CRAPPINK:
i have just realised that my blog is two year old on last 14 january 2009. so yeah happy belated second blogniversary to pinksterzisme wtf.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
since i am too free and too bored nowadays, i decided to jot down my wishlist and share with all of you (read: easier for you to find present for me, right? :P)
actually it is not a real wishlist since i am only writing about books (others part coming soon if i am this free) that i have been wanting for a while or few minutes ago haha. and it is also in conjunction with the cairo international book fair event that is happening right now.
*digress. sidetrack abit okay
aiyoh, i tell you one funny story about this bookfair. i wasn't really sure about the date of the book fair. last week, a junior from mansurah asked me about it and told her i wasn't really sure about it but i heard that it starts on 22 january. then i simply googled it just now just to double check and clicked on the first few results.
first website told me that it starts on 21 january till 2 february 2009.
second one said that it starts on 22 january till 2 february 2009.
third one said that ot starts on 22 january till 5 february 2009.
and the fourth one (which is the official website) said it is from the 21 january to the extend of 5 february 2009.
you can now proceed to laugh with me now. c'mon everyone: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
haha.
ha. ha.
i tell you lah, this is one of the things about egyptians that sometimes i can't stand. we can never confirm anything with them. if they told you to come in tomorrow it means next week. if they told you, to come and claim you visa in two weeks time, you might as well come the next month okay.
and if you are complaining about malaysian timing, egyptian will tell you that he/she will your place in 5 minutes when actually it means 3 bloody hours. take that malaysian! not so proud of our malaysian rubber timing (MRT wtf, stretch it as long as you want to!) anymore right?
haih, whatever lah. but to be on the safe side, just go there in between 24 january to 1 february wtf. because my friend actually went there on 21 january only to see they were still setting up the place. -__-"
/*end of digress.
anyway, here are some of the books that i really, really want to get my hands on it. if you are thinking of getting me a present or you spot any of them in cairo/alexandria do let me know so that i can go and look for them (but if you want to get them for me, i will accept them with tangan terbuka wtf rezeki jangan ditolak haha) because i really really want to get them!
1. Waiter Rant by the waiter aka steve dublanica
the book was out last year and it was by none other the famous (ex)waiter, steve dublanica himself. he used to be an anonymous blogger but since he had published his book i guess he was left with no choice but to show himself to the world for promotional purpose hahahaha. okay back to the main story, the book. i have been eyeing for it in virgin (which unfortunately the only coolest bookstore in egypt) for a while but too bad, they haven't stock it yet.
and guess what? he is writing another new book about tipping now and i haven't set eyes on his first book yet.2. The Tale of Beedle The Bard by jk rowling
who doesn't know this woman lah okay? the one who started all the harry potter fever and ended the series lamefully with "harry and ginny lives happily ever after" ending wtf. c'mon i was pretty upset with the last installment in the series. to be honest for this book, i want the collector's edition with the nice cover but i think it will cost me a bomb (i am not working okay, my only source of income is my scholarship/fama/ang pow) since the pre-order price is $100. so i guess i should be contented to own even the normal ones.
actually this is not in my wishlist anymore since kiah already got it for me when she was in malaysia last time but the problem is..... she hasn't have the chance to pass it to me yet (in case you are wondering kiah, yes, what i am trying to tell you is COME TO CAIRO ALREADY LAH WOI WE GO SHOPPING JALAN JALAN MAKAN MAKAN TOGETHER AND YOU CAN PASS ME THE BOOK AND THEN WE GO BACK TO OUR OWN WAY WTF)
received it already, thanks to kiah!
3. How Starbucks Saved My Life by micheal gates gill
ya ya i know all about the starbucks (and mcdonald's) recent hoo-has okay. and trust me this book will never come across under my wishlist because oh c'mon, i love pink and pink lovers love reading chic lits. well most of them lah. and i am not even a starbucks frequent customers. i have been in there for like what, three times?(and it wasn't even for their coffee or hot beverages. but i do love their brownies and cheesecake though).
i don't really like to read this kind of book to be honest. my kind of read are like the devil's wear prada, everybody worth knowing, ps i love you etc etc. but then i first saw it during my flight transit in dubai and i read through few of its few pages and since then i am hooked to it. i tried to search for the ebook but it is never the same you know, reading from your computer screen or your handphone compare to having to hold the book in your hands. i have been looking for it in the bookstores here too but so far still no luck. haih. very inspiring reading!
and the movie is in its "in development" process according to imdb!
if you read the devil wears prada and everyone worth knowing, then this one is no alien to you! lauren weisberger, the author who writes about the famous and glamour lifestyle. if you are into fashion and clothes and parties, this is the author for you!
anyway, this book was in stock in virgin last time but i didn't buy it because i chose to buy everybody worth knowing first. and right now my biggest dilemma is to get the cover with the white shoes or the green shoes if i found them in cairo. decision decision!
the only thing about lauren's book is i buy them when they has just been released but i only have the "urges" to read them like months later. or in the case of everybody worth knowing, almost a year later.
found it virgin megastore (they restock!)! with a cheaper price! OMG!
5. Girls Night In by too many authors but most of them are my fave!
OMG i only found out about this like five minutes ago when i was googling for lauren weisberger website hahaha. 21 short stories by many famous chic lits authors!!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!!
must. get. them. must. get. them.
since the day i read ps i love you, i decide that i must own all of her books. i cried when i read ps i love you, and where rainbow ends made (and still makes) me went all "awwwww" and "HAHAHAHAHA" at all the funny letters and emails, i am in the process of finishing a place called here and next i am going to read if you could see me now.
if you asked me to suggest a writer i will definitely suggest her. i even made gedik read where rainbow ends last year (to which he admitted he skipped some pages and read the "interesting" looking one only wtf)!
found it virgin megastore (they restock!)! with a cheaper price! OMG!
refer #6 above thank you.
finally got it from virgin megastore!
i have just checked sophie's website for updates and found out that this is a soon to be released in august 2009! they don't even have the cover picture yet!
hmm that's all that i can think of right now i guess. i am putting this list on my sidebar so that i (and you, you, you and you too) can keep track on my books wishlist. haha!
and you know what sucks about making this list during the oh-so-famous cairo international book fair?
i doubt i can even find half of it there considering the book fair mostly consists of intellectual and islamic stuff. :( i only found sophie kinsella's shopaholic series and meg cabot's (anis safiah bergembiralah kamu dengan khabaran gembira ini ya haha!) there. and virgin bookstore? haih there are chances of me finding these there but the bad news is they always, always stock up new book waaay later than the release date.
such a kill joy right. :(
MPH, kinokuniya and borders - i can has miz u pls wtf. T__________T
p.s. if you have any suggestions on any nice books, do let me know okay?
