mungkin dulu waktu bersekolah menengah dia selalu ponteng kelas fizik macam saya. atau mungkin dia tak masuk aliran sains tulin dekat sekolah mesir lah kan sebab tu dia tak tahu. tapi apa pun alasan, aku rasa someone patut ajar si Hannah Montana (bukan nama sebenar) teori ketiga Newton ni.

sebab sekarang dia sedang buat berjuta rakyat mesir (dan juga rakyat malaysia kat mesir serta orang orang-orang bukan arab yang berada kat mesir ni) bengang gila babeng dengan censorship melampau lampau. mula mula ini. dan petang tadi ini pula. tapi yang kedua tu tak tahu lah sebab ada je kawan kawan selamba tuwit tuwit guna beriberi masing masing.

macam situasi budak kecil yang kau cakap dan ajar "jangan berlari! nanti jatuh baju kotor lutut luka." dia akan sengih sengih dan saja nak cuba juga melawan juga kan? maka makin kau halang, makin semangat lah rakyat mesir nak bangun menentang. simple logic je pun. pfftt.

another funny thing. from my observation, in 10 seconds, not less than 2000 tweets all across the world are spamming the timeline of #25jan - related but tak menjadi trending topic. kalau trending pun sekadar seminit dua and then poof! it will be gone. confirm wei.

i think it is safe to be suspicious that twitter pun disuruh untuk jalankan censorship just like the old time during the serangan gaza last year. but of course it's unconfirmed. just like how the rumour how the government bans the friday prayer for tomorrow because it is rumored that there will be another huge riot all over egypt after the friday prayers. and another one on the day after (which means saturday).

so stay safe, kiddo. refrain yourself from going out during this time unless it's necessary.

this is my first try at pictures collage! because there are too many pictures and i want to upload them all so making collages is the perfect solution!! hahaha. i know they aren't perfect but skills can be acquire over time with practice(s). no? :D

minggu yang babi betul!

#1 minggu lepas saya ada membeli kasut boots kelabu. lawa dan memang murah! walaupun made in china, tapi sebelum beli saya memang ada periksa lining dalam dia dan memang kain je lining dia ala ala baldu. tapi semalam saya pergi kedai yang sama, sebab kawan saya cik K, hendak dapatkan kasut yang murah juga dari kedai tu!

dalam tengah memilih saya ternampak boots saya dah turun harga lagi. geram! terus saya angkat dan tunjuk dekat kawan lagi satu tentang harga tu. time tu baru saya perasan ada 1 inci lining dia pada mulut boots (to put your feet inside) yang ala berbintik. lining tu berkedut so mula mula memang tak pasti whether bintik tiga or what tapi mula was was.

bila dapat tahu sumpah weiii, saya emosi kejap macam alaaa the pair i bought are sooo comfortable and all and kawan saya pun ikut hilang mood nak bershopping haha kesian gila. then time makan i thought of a solution lah about cutting of the "lining" and sewing on a denim instead.

and yesternight i spent my night doing that. saya pun ada rujuk few friends yang tahu pasal ni and mereka cakap, kalau ikut boleh pakai sebab dah tak ada and diganti tapi better just in case samak je kasut tu just to be sure. saya pun okay nanti samak semua la.

tapi pagi ni bila saya terjaga tiba tiba dapat gerak hati untuk membuang. kenapa nak berusaha untuk memakai juga sedangkan dah tahu tak boleh? bukan? so yes, despite i put in efforts to get rid of the skin and sewing on new denim (you know how i hate sewing urgh) so i am throwing them away because i don't know anyone who is a non muslim here.

#2 sekarang ni ramai kawan saya tengah demam makan makanan korea. macam buah mulut juga lah. trending topic wtf. saya memang suka mencuba makanan dan sudah siap buat rancangan nak turun ke restoren Gaia/ Gaya (tak pasti ejaan) di kawasan maadi esoknya.

dalam minggu lepas seorang rakan kelas pergi dan cakap restoren tu memang ada dua, halal dan tak halal. tapi pemilik dia cakap dia tak akan hidangkan yang tak halal pada muslim. sebab dia tahu. so saya fikir tak apa la macam tu kan?

semalam saya masuk ke facebook dan ternampak status seorang rakan berkenaan dia pergi ke restoren tersebut dan ada satu komen yang buat saya tersentap,"kalau ikut tak boleh sebab kita tak tahu dia masak guna perkakas sama ke tidak kan"

jadi saya batalkan rancangan semalam juga dengan kawan kawan yang terlibat. ada seorang ustaz di malaysia pernah cakap pada ayah saya suatu ketika dulu, mengikut hukum, jikalau restoren itu sudah ada menghidangkan yang tidak halal, TIDAK BOLEH untuk kita makan di situ sebabnya awak pasti ke duit untung yang dia dapat memang diasingkan untuk membeli ayam yang halal? itu memang kita tak dapat nak pastikan lah kan.

lagipun, banyak je restoren lain yang halal (dan sedap dan mengenyangkan) walaupun bukan makanan korea?

hmmm.. kesimpulannya, minggu ni memang minggu babi betul lah saya cakap. hahahaha.

p.s. the title and the last sentence bukan lah kemarahan/ kekesalan tapi dibaca dengan humor ye. i just love puns. :P

p.p.s. sebenarnya banyak je restoren korea yang saya dengar ada di maadi tapi tak pastilah yang lain ada ke tidak yang tidak halal.

due to the overwhelming number of emails and questions i am getting in my formspring relating to the same, one and only subject - the usage of the word BABI. i think i need to make a clarification here. it's tiring to answer the same question over and over again you know?

penggunaan perkataan "babi" di sini bukanlah dalam konteks ayat menunjukkan kemarahan atau apa macam budak budak remaja sekarang. saya cuma mengaplikasi "puns" atau dalam bahasa melayunya "ayat dua maksud".

puns ni memang sangat popular dalam english and banyak digunakan oleh comedian or comedy series. even House pun ada je guna puns kadang kadang. nak tau contoh terbaik puns yang paling mudah dan simple? pergi tengok annoying orange channel kat youtube. puns dia memang terbaik dan tidak lucah sebab fruit-related haha!

(dah aku malas nak link satu satu kau nak sila rajin google sendiri annoying orange. jangan jadi dependant sangat boleh?)

jadi di sini saya bukanlah kesal atau sakit hati atau tensen atau marah dengan kejadian di atas (dah sebut perkara ni dalam p.s. sebenarnya). sebaliknya dalam kejadian #1 saya bersyukur dapat tahu lebih awal sebab saya belum lagi nak pakai kasut tu. saya beli sebab nak guna waktu cuti winter je. Alhamdulillah, dapat petunjuk lebih awal. :)

dan kejadian #2 memang saya dah awal awal agak berat hati tak tahu kenapa. mula mula ingat sebab saya bukan fanatik artis atau cerita korea. tapi setiap kali rancang ada je halangan untuk ke situ. mungkin di situlah hikmah nya kan. dan nasib baik nampak komen di facebook dua hari sebelum pergi makan.

jadi saya tahu sekarang ni makin ramai tertarik ke situ, ada yang turun dari muhafazah lain untuk mencuba, sudah pergi restoran itu berulang kali dan bawa rakan rakan dan benda ni perlu disebarkan macam mana sekalipun. saya sendiri sebut pada seorang rakan, takut la nak tegur nanti orang cakap macam bagus ke apa.

jadi last last, saya fikir cara terbaik belog saya, sebab agak ramai pelajar sini yang datang baca. dan saya cuma gunakan perkataan itu untuk menarik minat orang baca. kalau letak tajuk,"peringatan tentang kulit khinzir" atau "hukum makan di restoren tidak halal" mungkin orang akan assume oh pasal kulit khinzir je ni bosannn. jadi letaklah tajuk tu.

saya juga kena mengambil kira pembaca saya yang bukan dari mesir, yang gemar pembacaan kasual humor. bukan semua boleh terima jenis teguran tazkirah yang terlalu islamik dan penuh dengan istilah arab. saya pun jujur, tak pernah tertarik nak baca tazkirah kalau melampau banyak istilah arab sebab saya lemah arab. jadi di sini, saya utamakan audience saya secara general. nak tegur nak sampaikan isu apa apa, biar mesej tu sampai (communication skill dalam commed ni haaa).

lagipun memang betulkannn kewujudan babi dalam dua situasi tu tarak tipu punya wa cakap sama lu. saya kesian jugak dengan nasib babi. tak diiktiraf sebagai haiwan. tsk. korang ni. tak baik tau. makhluk Allah jugak tu. eh eh tersasul topik. sambung balik cakap pasal tadi. ahem.

pada saya ini cara saya menyampaikan maklumat dengan cara tersendiri. mungkin pada sesetengah pihak di sini, bahasa saya agak "kasar". jadi saya faham mungkin kita berbeza asal usul dan latar belakang. ye la saya bukan budak keluaran maahad atau sekolah agama hebat hebat mahupun sekolah asrama. sekolah saya sekolah harian je kot. haha.

tapi sungguh niat saya tulis ni hanya saya dan Allah saja tahu. kalau anda rasa perkara ni perlu atau baik untuk disebarkan, go on tell others. kalau rasa apa saya buat ni salah atau ada kesilapan di dalam fakta saya, silalah tegur. tak kisah pun. kalau anda rasa menyampah, biarkan je lah saya terus begini. :)

because a friend of mine keeps quoting barney stinson to me in our daily chat as, according to him, the character is like super awesome and funny and cool (i doubt wtf). so i decide to pull a barney as well by compilating some of my (self-proclaimed) awesome and witty quotes from all over the internet, especially my facebook and twitter.

pictures were taken few minutes ago!

excuse my jakun-ness, but this is my first time to witness a hail in cairo! usually whenever it rains or hails, i will either be dead sleeping or too oblivious to the environment wtf.

this year winter is almost similar to my first year in egypt. this is what i call a real winter (though still without snow). with rains and coldness that makes you just wanna roll up in your blanket with a mug of hot chocolate watching 90s sitcoms - heaven. :)

the title is one of the many famous questions i am getting from friends nowadays - apart from the (highly boring, repeating) - who's your current boyfriend now? wtf.

hard for you to believe, but i ain't going anywhere this winter break, not for now. at first i had a planned to fly to a place i have been longing to go to with a bunch of girls but somehow i backed out few weeks ago because the money i have been saving for the trip have to be channeled for my tuition fees and some other classes i am/will be taking.

oh well, studies triumphs vacation. always. :)

2010 : a review

so 2010 has officially bid us goodbye few minutes ago and as usual this is my annual "year review" post! super long and link-heavy wtf!

january

kicked off the year with my own personal project 365. and as i was looking through the archive i was surprise to find that this was the first post written for the year. no prize for guessing what's about la hahaha! had an embarassing encounter with my smart circle's mentor. the mid term's season kicked in but being a bunch of cool medical peeps we couldn't resist to be cool wtf.

february

spent the winter break by getting involved for the first time with a perubatan event (i know right wtf) made friends with the coolest ahli jawatangilakuasa ever in cairo! and overcome my own fear of performing in public for the first time. i was up at the front being an emcee without any glitch or stuttering! :') went to bahariya for the winter trips only to contract diarrhea wtf! had written NINE posts (melampau gila i know!) on the trip alone which can be viewed here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and (finally!) here! received a funneh wrong number caller and ended the winter break by hanging out with my two abangs wtf. and i also made a conclusion that pharmacology means viagra wtf.

kicked off another new personal project; 500LE/month for personal spending which i had forgotten till i just read the entry few minutes ago wtf. apparently, i am not made for cutting of the spendings, should try out MMM - making more money or mengahwini mamat mewah wtf. went to the first ASFad 2010 and went back home to face a black out drama wtf. celebrated a friend's birthday. had a kiasu encounter with four egyptian lads. and also was appointed as the ketua kontinjen for cairo sport's day.

april

had a funny incident where i was accused of going out with a senior when i had clearly written a day before about my busy schedule. visited auc's bookstore for the first time in tahrir!

may

had another funny phone encounter encounter through texting albeit this time it was my fault! quite a difficult month for me cause i was facing a personal drama with say... a person. finally revealed why i don't/can't drink coffee. began my final examination with parasitology practical. celebrated mek yaa's birthday and also blinged up my phone (again!)

june

the world was enraged with the israelian zionist's attack! the world cup season had begun so i was torned in between studying for my finals or looking at hot guys wtf. needless to say, most of the times, the latter won. wrote an entry about Mommehpink! i also embraced narcissism. did a lame answering guide (so what? it was funny to me at least!) and on 27 june my battle officially begun with the first written paper and oral exam of pathology.

july

still having the football fever and written an open love letter to the old crush on the very same man. :') not only i had to face the stress of my finals but my neighbours decided to do renovation on the whole building as well resulting a very emotional pinksterz wtf. the exam almost came to its end so the lazy bug started to kick in, and finally on 19th july i was free! after waiting for ten days finally the result came out and i officially bid goodbye to the third year!

august

flew back to malaysia for my summer, bought a new camera to replace my old benQ (aka Jenny) and started to learn its function by try and error (instead of reading the manual from page to page) , enjoyed the morning jogging session which was way better than cairo,spent the whole ramadhan with my family binging up on malaysian good food! did a first attempt at street photography and fell in love with it. also my family and i started to do the preparation for the upcoming eid mubarak.

september

september kicked in with more hari raya preparation! spent raya eve with big bro and headed to the south on the first raya! went to putrajaya *click* *click* *click* and also spent my few last day in malaysia on seafood at umbai! finally had a proper conversation with a long lost friend through a phone call which i managed to meet up before, flying back to egypt! officially began my fourth year with the ENT round.

october

bought myself another pair of hammies. which later i suspected was a reincarnation of micheal scofield wtf. had a very torturing week because my ISP fucked up big time. since my birthday was just around the corner, i had fun spamming my twitter with my stupid #wishlistbesday HAHA. had a first attempt at baking cupcakes which i failed. and watched surgeries for the first time.

november

i turned 22! had a second funny encounter with abang operator mcd! watched how a fungal mass was removed which was the longest surgery evarrr! decided to embrace lemonism. celebrated Eid Adha as usual with the egyptian and spent the second day scouting for free food all over cairo! changed my blog layout like finally! officially became a zombie slayer. watched the latest harry potter with miss K! and also i fell sick by the end of this month. :(

december

after whole week being sick, finally i recovered but kokoro (the hamster) died. had the first batch gathering for 4 biar betik! brainstormed ideas for a friend's wedding. had encountered for the first time a polite wrong caller to my phone! found another new kesengalan of the egyptian in my very university! went to ismailiyyah for a day trip with some friends! made an attempt at street photography in cairo! went to saray el kobba for a commed's field visit. and despite how i promised to not create any more drama this year, somehow i failed at controlling my anger towards the end of the year. and finally, on the last day i had a gathering with the peeps from my old batch.

so that's my 2010. quite a good year, no? apart from that i have also succeeded in my Project 365 which to me, is quite an achievement. :D
