if you are my friend in facebook you would know that since few weeks back i was on an important *ahem* mission of collecting all 10 smurfs' toys from McDonalds!! aiyo it wasn't as easy as you thought okay? no such thing as "go to McD counter, ask for the toys of the week, pay and go home happily" okay?
my (two) very first smurfs were bought on the third day of the collection launch itself. i had received
Smurfette Hair Care and surprisingly,
Clumsy's Wand which was supposed to be released next week. but of course, i didn't complain la.
since then i had marked all the dates the new ones would come up which was every thursday!
the first 'hurdle' was when i was trying to get my hands on the other two Smurfs from the first week;
Singing Harmony and
Vanity in Love! the former was easy enough. in fact i also bought
Papa's Potion together with it from the same branch near to my house (they released it a day earlier) but to my horror they already ran out of
Vanity in Love! *gasps*
so i rushed to the second nearest McDonalds (which was like another 7 km travelling distance wtf) with my dad and that branch ran out of Vanity as well!!!!! gila la i was super kan-cheong already. but as i was making my way out i spotted the display cupboard and guess what was in there?
THE FREAKING LAST VANITY SMURF IN LOVE IN MY AREA WTF.
so i talked to the girl and asked her to let me to buy that last
Vanity in Love at the same price, RM 3. she was reluctant at first because she said it was against their policy or something to sell toys without their proper packaging and she kept asking me again and again if i mind to get the toy without its plastic.
of course i did mind la are you freaking kidding me?! but what choice did i have back then? it was either i took the display or risked of missing one smurf in my collection.
so i was left with
Gutsy Dancer which they hadn't start selling yet but fret not because i managed to get my hands on it the next day without any drama.
that meant i had another 6 days to wait for the third week toys to come out and i was idling very much (due the lack of drama in getting my hands on Gutsy wtf). at one point my mom kept pestering me to check with the nearest branch but of course, i was stubborn enough to listen to her and said "
no need to worry la, we go there next thursday. confirm still got wan!" confidently.
so on last thursday morning, as i was on my way to the hospital, i asked DaddehPink to stop by so i could buy Hefty Weight Lifter and Jokey's Surprise Box (which wasn't that surprising if you ask me wtf). i thought at 8am they should still have these two in their stocks. it was impossible for them to run out of them in 8 hours only right.
again, i was wrong.
so my parents took over the "task" and off they went to another 2 branches in town before he finally got me both of them! SO YEAY!
(yes i have a super duper awesome dad who damn layan her daughter's wishes. be jealous, people. be very jealous. ;p)
and today while we were on our way back from Johor i decided to drop by Mcdonalds again just to check about the last two toys. yes i know i was still 4 days too early from the (supposed) released date but after the previous two encouters, i'd learnt my lesson already okay?
the first branch that i went into already recognized me (since i frequent the place so much, asking the same question again and again hahahaha!) so they told me straightaway they already ran out of every smurf toy. i left the place with a broken heart wtf.
so dad drove us to the second branch and again, the same thing; heartbroken 2.0 wtf.
so no choice already lah must go into the town on a sunday afternoon which wasn't a good combination you know.
at the third McD's i got the same answer again:
"Sori, dik. Mainan smurf semua dah habis semalam."
"But you are supposed to sell them by next thursday kan?"
"Habis la dik. Weekend ramai customers and kids."
"okay T_______________T"
i almost gave up at that time la considering my family and i were already tired from the travelling we did earlier to the south. but my Dad insisted for me to go to another branch which was nearby. siapa yang semangat kumpul sekarang aku pun tak tahu hahahhahahahaha.
and lucky i did listen to him!!! since that branch in the mall still had the last two smurfs;
Brainy's Toast and
Dizzy Baker!!!
and with that, i end my dramatic adventure on how i
tenaciously collect all 10 Smurfs Toys from McDonalds wtf. *abrupt
p.s. in case you can't tell, yes i do have too much time in my hands right now since i can type this ass-long pointless story wtf.
